Figurines for Lucrezia Borgia.

On display, until August 13, on the ground floor of Sardinia Regional Council Palace in Via Roma, the figurines made by Mario Sironi for the representation of "Lucrezia Borgia" by Gaetano Donizetti, during the first season of the “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino”.

A priceless heritage kept for years in the palace of Sardinian Parliament, coming from the “Casa del Teatro Chiappa”, that had created the costumes for the work of the famous Lombard composer, performed in 1933 at the Municipal theatre in Florence.

There are also 10 stage costumes owned by Teatro Massimo di Palermo, which in 1992 performed the work of Donizetti dedicated to one of the most controversial feminine figures of the Renaissance, with the stage costumes made from the figurines of Sironi.

The exhibition, curated by Giorgio Dettori, is realized with the contribution of the Foundation of Sardinia and the collaboration of Professor Moreno Bucci, curator of the historical archive of “Maggio Musicale Fiorentino”.
