Discovering the Carroz family

The Castle of San Michele, located in one of the hills of Cagliari, offers a 360 degree view of the city and the Campidano valley. Its history is linked to the Carroz, a noble Catalan family. An unmissable educational exhibition will offer visitors the opportunity to learn more about the history and legends of the Carroz family.
The exhibition In the court of Violante is organized by the Consorzio Camù in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Cagliari and accompanies visitors to discover the San Michele Castle, a place rich in history, residence of one of the most important aristocratic families in Sardinia: The Carroz.
The texts accompany us on a journey into the court of Giacomo Carroz, to discover the historic events, anecdotes and curiosities of the noble family that transformed the castle in its residence. A specific focus is dedicated to the countess Violante Carroz: the unfortunate countess is at the centre of the educational project "The Castle of San Michele: a piece of medieval Sardinian history to be valued", curated by the Institute of Higher Education "De Sanctis - Deledda" of Cagliari, which enriches the permanent exhibition with a original theatrical dramaturgy, visible via QR code.
