First exhibition in Sardinia by the artist Lucio Pozzi.

On October 13, 2018, the art space E_EMME presents GAP, the first exhibition in Sardinia by the artist Lucio Pozzi.

Pozzi, born in Milan, Italy, in 1935 and a naturalized US citizen, has spent a long life straddling Italian and American cultures, exhibiting his works and teaching in American and European institutions.

Like the artist Francis Picabia and the writer Fernando Pessoa before him, Pozzi seeks art in a flux of continuous change, endlessly crossing techniques and meanings.

GAP develops along two parallel lines: on the one hand are twelve small paintings from the Diffraction group and on the other a new installation titled Fortuna. The paintings are painted in colorful acrylics. They all have two stripes that never meet. The installation has black and white drawings on paper affixed to two large slabs of wood painted with shiny yellow enamel and leaning against tall 3.20 meter-high digital photographic scrolls. In contrast to what he calls the current virus of explanationitis, Pozzi doesn’t explain his works but prefers to stimulate the viewers to recreate each of his works in their own mind as they wish.
