PIAZZA SAN GIACOMO
MAURO MULAS QUARTET live (from 10.30 pm to 00.15 am)
Mauro Mulas Trio is a band born from a passion for jazz music with a strong inspiration for Afro-American music. The collaboration with the singer Marco Cocco has started five years ago. They draw from the American Songbook with songs that have made the history of jazz, especially the Swing Era, performing the most beautiful and unforgettable compositions of artists such as Gershwin, Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Van Heusen, and Jobim.
Their repertoire takes inspiration from great interpreters such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, Michael Bublé, who have contributed to the growth and popularity of this genre, still able to engage the audience.
Mauro Mulas – piano
Alessandro Atzori – double bass
Vittorio Sicbaldi – drums
Marco Cocco – vocals
FOXI & HERNY live (from 00.15 am to 01.30 am)
F&H met by chance in the early '90s on a basketball court, a sport they practiced with an amazing commitment inversely proportional to their talent.
Bonding over the shared love for a kind of music they cannot listen on the radio, in the mid-90s they started to put their own records on.
At the dawn of the new millennium, their career officially took off in a prestigious AICS circle.
In the following eighteen years, between highs and lows, they have never stopped putting their music on, almost everywhere between Cagliari and New York (sometimes even in Sassari), often joined by their favorite vocalist Giacomino.
Nowadays they are two seemingly respectable gentlemen, with a real job and dependent children, who keep on putting their "strange" music on, from Fela Kuti to Enzo Carella passing (necessarily) through James Brown , as if they were still kids.
