Colourful Nights, now in its fourth edition, is an important action of territorial marketing sponsored by the City of Cagliari, aimed at building special activities during the summer evenings (such as culture, shopping, gastronomy, tours), offering both tourist and residents, housed in the city and in the coastal resorts, the idea of an open and friendly town.
For eight dates, Cagliari and its historic centre in particular, will stay open until midnight.
This special edition strengthens the combination between culture and tourism, being Cagliari The Italian Capital of Culture 2015. Moreover, thanks to the Italian Ministry for Arts and Culture, the exhibition “Monte'e Prama 1974-2014”, housed in the Archaeological National Museum, will be open, for this special event, until midnight. Furthermore, it is also possible to visit the following cultural centres: the former Town Hall, the Civic Museums , the Ghetto, the Elephant tower, and the Exmà.
Everyone can actively contribute, wearing the colour of the evening.
This initiative aims to give to the citizens and to the tourists in Cagliari, a complete experience of the town: walking through the vibrant streets of the city centre and go shopping, discovering suggestive itineraries, visiting the Civic Museums, cultural centres and the Archaeologial Museum, all of this accompanied with a good aperitif and some typical delicatessen in one of the several restaurants of the Old Town.
