The church of San Francesco di Paola is located in via Roma, in Marina district, in Cagliari. The temple officiated by the Minimi friars is dedicated to the saint, patron of the city since 1907, to whom the miracle of freeing Cagliari from the drought of 1739 was attributed. The place where the church stands today was granted to the friars of the Order of Minimi, who arrived in Sardinia in 1625. Before the end of the 17th century the friars erected the church and their convent.
