Murals, nature, bike: the perfect combination to get outdoors and visit one of the city's most impressive open-air urban art galleries!
The Salt Gallery is located on the edge of the city and traces a route that once represented the connection between the Molentargius salt pans and the Su Siccu wharf from where the salt left towards various commercial destinations. Today there is an open-air art gallery here with more than 40 works of urban art!
During the guided tour you will discover which artists have left their signature and how they have interpreted the dominant theme of the gallery: the relation between man and nature. I will tell you how this major art project that has been collecting murals, sculptures, installations and poster art interventions since 2014 came into being.
By taking part in the tour you also support the annual expansion of the Salt Gallery as a small portion of the participation fees will be donated to the Urban Center organisation, creator and promoter of the project.
Bike tours along the Salt Gallery are available during the week every Wednesday (also during the morning if you prefer).
The tour covers a distance of approximately 2 km with a 2-hour bike ride and includes
- Bike rental (regular or electric) at the LazzarentBike point
- Guided tour of the painted walls at the Salt Gallery.
