Pinuccio Sciola: the nature, the sculpture and the city
Five years after Pinuccio Sciola's death in 2016, the exhibiting spaces of the Castle of San Michele will house the exhibition Mother Stone, the nature, the sculpture, the city dedicated to the famous artist from San Sperate, perfectly integrated with the surrounding landscape.
Curated by Simona Campus with Tiziana Ciocca, thanks to the partnership with Sciola Foundation, the initiative is part of the planning of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Cagliari.
Focus of the exhibition is the relationship between art and nature, investigated by Sciola in a constant, original and poetic way throughout his life, according to a great design coherence: along the path, without solutions of continuity, the environmental and environmentalist dimension of his sculpture is clear: making art and, at the same time, designing for urban public spaces.
Thanks to a corpus of materials, some of them completely original, connected to completed and unrealized projects, the exhibition will also be a valuable opportunity to draw attention on Sciola's bond with Cagliari.
The exhibition can be visited from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9am to 1pm and from 4pm to 9pm.
