Castello di San Michele

San Michele Castle is located on one of the highest hills of Cagliari. The main plant, probably of a single tower, is from the Byzantine Period or first “Giudicale” Period (tenth century AD) and it had the defensive function of Santa Igia.

The museum features agricultural implements and machinery and a collection of fine handmade tools once used in Sardinian country houses. Villa Muscas also houses a remarkable stock of vintage wines (the enoteca), featuring more than 800 bottles of Sardinian wine.

The building of the Ex-slaughterhouse is located in the historic district of Villanova. Construction works, started in 1845, ended in 1852. The slaughterhouse was operative until 1964.
