Photo exhibition of Marina Patteri

The photo exhibition of Marina Patteri "Villaggio Pescatori", after being displayed in Cagliari last autumn, comes back to the place from which it was born and it has drawn inspiration: the fisherman village of Giorgino. From February 23rd to February 25th, the photographs which depict everyday life, festivals and faces of the inhabitants of the village of Giorgino, will be exhibited to the public in the same place where they were taken. Those who still do not know the Village will have the opportunity to discover this unique place; those who already know it can return there.

A few kilometers from its historic center, Cagliari preserves one of its most fascinating and least known corners: The fisherman Village of Giorgino. Founded in 1937 to house the fishermen of the hamlet of Sa Scafa, over the decades the Village has developed a strong and recognizable identity, beeing until today the last extraordinary testimony of the ancient and now lost district of Giorgino. An authentic and rare seaside village, geographically close to the city, but in its own way very far from it.

Marina Federica Patteri with her photo studio, the result of the work of more than a year, intends to pay tribute to this place and its inhabitants, describing in pictures their daily life, celebrations and parties. All pervaded by the poetry and the suggestion that are characteristic of a place where everyday life is cadenced by the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
