Male and female vanity. The weapon and the jewel.

This event is related to the sections: Exhibitions

Museums of stories. Gold and Silver.

A natural link between the world of weapons and the one of golden and silver jewels, the former essentially male and the latter female, joined together by the vanity of self-adornment.

Following the theme of vanity, the exhibition boasts a collection of 466 precious items among earrings, rings, necklaces, pins, pendants, buttons, key chains, spuligadentes, perfume holders, tobacco tins, cameos, miniatures and engraved precious stones, belts, buckles, rosaries and amulets.

The joining link is Napoleon's small sword, a beautiful example of Neoclassical style, whose decorations testify a classical taste recognisable in various other pieces of the collection of the National Art Gallery.

The event is part of the programme of "Museums of stories. Gold and Silver".
