Photo exhibition by Marco Delogu.

An artist's journey to discover Asinara, caught in its deepest identity by Marco Delogu's nocturnal shots.

Island in the island, land of strong contrasts made of the sublime beauty of the landscape and the coldness of its health and detention facilities, Asinara is the protagonist of the photographer's new work: 25 works that will be on display in the spaces of the Fondazione di Sardegna until the end of February 2018.

The artist, Marco Delogu, writes: "The project has foreseen a reconnaissance work on the nocturnal landscape, under the moonlight of the island: with the first moon of August, in search of its deep identity, the few buildings, the inland and the sea".

"Asinara" is the natural evolution of Marco Delogu's artistic research, who has always been committed to the theme of portraits of groups of people with shared experiences or languages. In recent years, his projects have focused more on nature in different situations, with an attention shifting from man to what surrounds him. The different interventions of the man on the island of Asinara over more than 100 years and the consequent contrasts with a mostly wild and uncontaminated nature, are in fact at the centre of the artist's nocturnal study.
